Designer and Jeweller

Diana Sherling

Diana Sherling's love of Art History, mainly of the 20th century informs much of her heart, but will often be found in a National Trust House, walking about London or with her family and dog through fields. The beauty of Diana's thinking is that she can take elements from life and living together and create jewellery that is not just beautiful but resonates from the heart.

When Diana left the world of advertising, it was important to her that she was a credible jeweller.. this meant honouring all the techniques and skills that create a real designer and jeweller. She wasn't going to fake it and she wasn't going to outsource.

This meant that at 40 she decided to go back to college, back to square one with beginners courses in jewellery making at the City Lit that then turned into Contemporary Jewellery, Fine Jewellery, Gemstone setting at City Lit, Working Mens College and Morley College. She is currently working on a BTEC Level 3.

Her college is vital to push, challenge and evolve her jewellery design and making, in order that her own collections improve every year.
