Almost Went The Other Way Diamond Stud Earrings
There are moments in life that divide everything into before and after.
A conversation you almost didn’t have. A train you nearly missed. A city you almost never moved to. The relationship you nearly stayed in. The job you almost accepted. The version of yourself you were expected to become.
And somehow, without always realising it at the time, your life quietly turns.
Almost Went The Other Way was designed as a reflection on those invisible turning points — the fragile moments where one small decision, instinct or act of courage changes the entire direction of a life.
The sculptural gold form moves in two flowing parallel lines, almost touching, almost diverging. Like two possible paths existing beside one another. The shape holds tension between closeness and separation, certainty and uncertainty, past and future.
At either end sits a diamond.
Not simply as decoration, but as markers in time.
One diamond represents the person you once were. The other, the person you became because things unfolded differently than expected. Between them sits the curve of experience itself — the unseen emotional journey connecting one version of your life to another.
The flowing form is intentionally soft rather than sharp; because most life-changing moments do not announce themselves dramatically. Often they arrive quietly, disguised as ordinary days, ordinary choices, ordinary instincts.
Made entirely by hand in solid 9k gold using traditional goldsmithing techniques, each pair is individually formed, soldered, finished and set by hand in my London studio. The gentle curves retain traces of human touch and movement, giving the piece a warmth and emotional presence that cannot be replicated through mass production.
Gold here becomes a metaphor for transformation itself: shaped through pressure, heat and persistence, yet emerging stronger, softer and more luminous through the process.
